Mubende Municipality MP Withdraws From NRM Primaries
Lubega Bashir Ssempa, one of the NRM party aspirants for Mubende Municipality, has withdrawn from the race.
Lubega Bashir, who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Mubende Municipality, on Friday afternoon, shocked his fans when he revealed that he is no longer interested in the race.
Bashir argued that he has already predicted irregularities in the NRM Primary polls. He argues that his colleagues, including Member of Parliament for Kasambya MP Kabanda David, District chairperson for Mubende Ntambi Michael, and District Woman representative, have always played dirty games against him.
Bashir adds that he will contest as an independent candidate in the 2026 general elections.
This is the first time an NRM candidate to withdrawn from the race ahead of the primaries.
He was contesting against Masembe Deo Mujabi, Rt Wo Akankwasa Ramathan, and Musa kabogoza.
