New Chapter For Mubende Municipality?Sureman Segawa Confirms Bid For Mubende Municipality Member of Parliament
National Unity platform candidate On Mubende Municipality MP seat Ismael Ssegawa popularly known as Sureman Segawa has today returned his expression of interest forms at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavule amidst cheers from his supporters.
Ismael, a rising political figure rooted in humble beginnings and grassroots activism, Over the years, he has served with several high-profile political figures and participated in organizing community-led initiatives across Mubende Municipality.
Segawa said he is now focus on working for the people while waiting for the selection of who will hold the NUP flag in Mubende to contest the upcoming general elections. He laughed at those who were claiming that he was not capable of the position after taking the papers there and the authorities accept them.
He called on the people of Mubende Municipality to walk this journey with him: “Let this not be my journey, but ours—For Mubende Municipality that works. For a future we can all believe in
Segawa thanked his fans who were able to accompany him and encouraged those who could not but would like to accompany him.
“It is not uncommon for candidates to set up a car and pay for it and tell people to come and go elsewhere and they come in big numbers but those two buses you saw our people accompanying us from Mubende no one we paid and I want to assure them that they don’t give up next time will be much bigger when we join those that were unable”. He said.
Some of his entourage including powerful National Unity platform leaders in Mubende expressed happiness for their candidate to submit his nomination papers and they were accepted.
“Sureman Segawa was returning his papers, we walked as Mubende people from three divisions, accompanied by our MP, the vibe was very good along the way we walked well, people went in big numbers a full coster bus with a taxi and other cars without Him paying for anyone, not only in Mubende Municipality but also Kampala Segawa is a strong man” Frank Mazinga narrates.
“We came to accompany the ou Mp because he is the one we trust as Mubende people and the situation is tense here because of his powers, Mubende people decided to take two transport buses some of them we left them in Mubende, they wanted to join us but the seats was not enough for all of us and we are ready to protect our vote” Semuga said.
Segawa’s entry into the race signals a new wave of candidates determined to return public service to the people. His campaign will focus on education, youth employment, community health, and transparency in service delivery.
Andrew Walubi, who was one of the contenders for the same seat, accompanied Ssegawa and said he decided to leave the seat to Segawa and return for the mayoral seat For Mubende Municipality to avoid controversy so that the people of Mubende can get services.
“National Unity platform was never given a chance in Mubende Municipality but this time because of the strength we have as youths because we represent people’s issues I Andrew Walubi and Sureman Segawa my brother I want to hand over the issues of Mubende Municipality so that he brings them to parliament” Andrew Walubi said.
Others in presence included Kawuma Charles Mayor East Division Mubende Municipality, Mayanja Samuel Councilor East Division on Mubende district, Kabali Harunah NUP Registrar Mubende and other aspiring Councilors in Mubende district.
