KASSANDA: Police in Kassanda are on the hunt for unknown assailants who attacked Nabutiti village in the Bukuya Constituency last night and stabbed three people to near death.
According to the residents, the machete gangs attacked the village at around 4:30pm at Nanjovu’s house where they stabbed one person but when the residents tried to offer help, a one Kamya sustained cuts to his head and hands, while another only identified as Agnes suffered similar injuries.
The couple were rushed to Hajji Kyambadde Medical Clinics in Bukuya, to receive first aid treatment.
The community is shaken as it’s not the first time to report machete attacks.
Lawrence Mbogga, LC I Chairman for Nabutiti, described the attack: “The assailants injured one person at Nanjovu’s home before fleeing when locals pursued them. They then attacked Kamya Ssebaddawo’s family, injuring him and his wife, Agnes Zawedde”.
Police have appealed to the community to stay calm as investigations into the incident take centre stage.
The resident district commissioner in Kassanda, Phoebe Namulindwa, said the police are doing everything possible to hunt down the killers and urged the residents to join hands with the police to speed up the investigations.
