KASSANDA: Thousands of Kassanda residents flocked to Nakivubo playground in Bukuya Town Council to learn about pregnancy care as well as to let men know their responsibilities in supporting their pregnant women.
The event was organized by the National Unit Platform MP Hon Kalule Flavia Nabagabe, the Kassanda district woman member of parliament under the theme, “Celebrating Mothers; Role of Men in Supporting Pregnant Mothers”.
During the event, MP Flavia Kalule donated blankets, towels, soap, and other items used by mothers during childbirth.
Flavia also donated equipment to government hospitals including Bukuya Health Center IV, Kiganda Health Center IV, and Kasanda Health Center iv.
She gifted expecting mothers with soap, basins, Detergents, Leesu, and Maama Kits, buckets, blankets, bedsheets, children’s clothes from newborn to five years, reusable sanitary pads, and others.
The ceremony was attended by NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine as the chief guest, Leader of Opposition in Parliament Hon Joel Ssenyonyi, Hon Kaaya Christine Nakimweero the woman representative of Kiboga district, Hon Patrick Nsamba MP Kassanda North, Hon Frank Kibirige Kabuye of Kassanda south, Hon Aloysius Mukasa of Lubaga south, Hon Zaake Francis Butebi of Mityana Municipality.
As well as talented artists including Taata Sam, Hassan Nduga, and Serena Bata who performed for thousands of people who gathered at the venue.
