MASAZA CUP: As Masaza Cup 2024 takes centre stage, the Buweekula Ssaza FC Football Club Players’ Awards Gala is back, big, and better.
Awards that were initiated last season by Dr. Simon Babambu and team Chairperson Mr. Kasumba Richard with Dueces Launge as a sponsor aimed at motivating and bringing up stiff competition among players.
The awards were split into First Round Awards, for the best performers in the first five games of group stages, and Second Round Awards where the best performers in the last five matches of the group stages were awarded.
The mega awards ceremony was in plans if the team happened to play in the final but Bulemeezi ruined the Nakayima Boys’ anticipations last year after a 2-1 quarter-final defeat at St Peter’s Play Ground in Mubende.
However, different from the first edition, this year’s awards gala is happening after all the ten group games played.
According to the team Chairperson Mr. Kayemba Richard, this year’s Group Stages Round One Awards Gala didn’t happen because of some unavoidable circumstances.
Kasumba stated that this year’s awards gala returns big and better, calling upon all Buweekula FC fans to attend and witness the much-anticipated ceremony.
“We had some unavoidable challenges and we were unable to host the first-round awards but now everything is set for our players to be awarded in different categories,” Mr Kasumba told Mubende Post.
During the awards, the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Runners Up Most Valuable Player, Most Consistent, and Most Disciplined Player will be awarded and each will return to the camp with an award and a heavy cash envelope.
The second edition of the awards gala will take place on Wednesday 18, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Kaz Lounge and Kitchen Located at High Way in the heart of Mubende Town.
