KIBOGA: The territorial police in Kiboga have recovered two suspected stolen animals (cow and bull) in Lufula cell, Kiboga town ward, Kiboga town council in Kiboga district.
According to Wamala region Police sports person, SP Kawala Racheal, the incident happened on September 17, 2024, at about 0800hrs .
Kawala revealed that on September 17, 2024, at about 0800hrs police officers received information that two men not known in the area were selling two heads of cattle but didnot have any document pertaining ownership.
Police immediately responded to the call and three suspects were arrested and two heads of cattle were recovered. A case of being in possession of suspected stolen property has been opened at kiboga Police station vide ref 35/17/09/2024.
The Suspects have been identified as Kamya Paul aged 19 years a resident of Busunju- Mityana district, Kayizzi Ronald aka Gerald aged 35 years resident of Kabanyi- Wattuba sub-county in Kyankwanzi district and Kibombo Rashid aged 27 years taxi driver resident of Kayunga- Wakiso district.
The motor vehicle taxi registration number UAY 374M which is suspected to have been used in transportation of the cattle has also been recovered from a washing bay in the Kiboga district and is parked at Kiboga Police station.
Preliminary findings indicate the suspects were trying to sell to a butcher man who hesitated buying after they failed to present documents pertaining the animals.
Reports indicate the cows were allegedly stolen from Busunju.
