MUBENDE: Mubende district local government finally released results for the joint Mock Examinations for the calendar year 2024

The Education and Sports secretary, Hon Kayonde Isaac on behalf of the LCV chairperson while presiding over the ceremony officially released the Mubende district local government joint mock results for the calendar year 2024.

Hon Kayonde Isaac noted that there has been a drastic improvement in the results for calendar year 2024 compared to last year’s results. He therefore applauded both the political and technical wings for implementing the measures that were put in place to see to it that the pupils perform well.

He noted that this calendar year all pupils in government schools were able to write their exams since the 10,000 mock fee was scraped off.
However, he reminded parents that it’s their sole responsibility to provide the necessities for children so that they can perform well in the final PLE exams.

“The district leadership will continue to monitor and supervise the teachers so that they provide the necessary support to learners especially those that have performed poorly,” Kayonde said.

Mr. Mawa Geoffrey the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer has applauded the Education department for completing and marking the Mock Exams this able to produce the results.

He noted that it’s the district prayer that all the pupils can write and pass their PLE with flying colours.

Mr Sekyambalo Joseph the District Inspector of schools noted that Mubende district registered a total of 5626 candidates out of which 3618 candidates were from government-aided schools and 2008 were from private schools. 3049 candidates were female and 2577 were male. 122 schools registered where 87 are government-aided schools and 35 are private schools.

Out of the 5626 candidates registered, 274 passed in Division One, 1214 passed in Division Two, 619 passed in Division Three, 1528 passed in Division Four, 1851 failed examinations, and 140 missed sitting some of the mock papers. therefore 64.6%of the total candidates for mock exams passed while 35.4% failed.

English was the most done subject with 8.1% passing with distinctions and 49.3% passing with at least a credit. Social Studies second with 3.2% with distinction and 32.6%passing with at least a credit. Mathematics was the third with 9.6%passing with distinction and 29.8% at least with a credit. Science was the worst done subject with 2.1% passing with distinction and only 23.4%with at least a credit.

The district has 3,049 female candidates and 2,577 male candidates. 1,939 female and 1,696 male candidates passed, representing 63.6% of the total females, and 65.8%of total males passed the exams. this implies that more male candidates passed than females.

Kyenda Town Council was the best performing lower local government with 45.3%of its candidates passing in divisions One and Two and Kiruuma sub-county was the worst performing lower local government with 4.8%of its candidates passing in divisions one and two.

The best-performing candidates were Muhwezi Jonathan, Matovu Joel, Matovu Mustafa, and Ashiimwe Miracle who scored an aggregate of 4 fro.m New Life Preparatory School. The best performing UPR candidates were Tugabirwe Prudence and Mbabazi Gift Ritah who scored an aggregate of 5 from Buwaata Primary School.
