A verbal bitter war between Mubende municipality Member of Parliament, Bashir Lubega Ssempa and David Kabanda of Kasambya Constituency who are currently not seeing eye to eye, sending bitter messages to each other has taken shape.
Member of Parliament for Kasambya County Hon Kabanda David while monitoring government programs like PDM and emyooga in Nabingoola subcounty advised residents to always vote for people who will work for them.
He made those remarks while responding to the Mubende Member of Parliament Hajji Bashir Lubega Sempa who had earlier attacked him on Point Fm Radio in Mubende.
Kabanda challenged Bashir to organise such meetings with his people and get people’s feedback on his leadership.
“People called me today, that there are MPs like of Mubende municipality that they are on radio, spoiling me and I told them to go to their people and hold a meeting like this and people applaud them”, screams and applause from the people. David Kabanda said.
He continued that ” because if you don’t work for the people you start holding on to the grass, tell them people of Nabingoola that we are bringing Kabanda back, “shouts from the people,” who say Kabanda is back wave your hands!! “shouts from the people waving their hands”.
Also Kabanda apologised to the people of Mubende municipality for imposing a person onto them who doesn’t know what to do in Parliament.
“If you can’t get back to your voters then you have either become a loss to some or you have cut them off” kabanda said.
The Ssempa and Kabanda camps are apart at the moment despite their bond that seemed unblockable during the 2021 General elections under an alliance that they had dubbed “BAMUDA” (Bashir, Muhereza, David).
The source says that the bitter war was prompted by Ssempa’s disagreement to side with Kabanda as the ‘forehead’ of all National Resistance Movement (NRM) carders in Mubende District.
The fight has long reached supporters of both camps. MP David Kabanda’s supporters claimed that the reason for honorable Bashir’s accusations against his colleague may be to keep himself in the news because he owes many promises he made to the people of Mubende Municipality that he did not fulfill.
