The territorial police in Mubende are actively investigating a fatal accident that occured on 08/12/2024 at 0500hrs
at Brund petrol station in kisekende along Mubende – Mityana highway in mubende District .
The accident was involving motor vehicle UBQ 042X Toyota Hiace and motor vehicle UBG 847X M/Fuso (stationary vehicle ,unfortunately one person died on spot and 11 were injured .
The victims have been identified as
Kobusingye Rose female aged 34yrs Resident of Kyenjojo district, Nyangoma Rosette a female aged 41yrs old, Resident of Fortportal city, Kemigisha Laila Female aged 53yrs old Resident of Kyenjojo district, Katuramu William Male aged 52years old, Resident of Kyenjojo district, Byaruhanga John Male aged 34yrs old Resident of Fort portal city , Happy Moses Male aged 43yrs old Resident of Kyenjojo district, Kugonza Ephraim Male juvenile Resident of Fort portal city, Matsiko Shillah Female, Kwikiriza Enock Male juvenileDesire Ronald male Resident of Kyenjojo, Agaba Francis Male 36yrs old Resident of kaswa-Fortportal city(driver of the Taxi).
It is alleged that Motor vehicle Reg no UBQ 042X T/Hiace was Moving at a high speed heading to Mityana from Mubende side when it reached Brund petrol station in kisekende-Mubende town, the driver lost control and knocked a stationary Motor vehicle Reg no UBG 847X M/Fuso which had parked alongside the road off the flowing lane Injuring 10 of his passengers and killing one female adult on spot.
Scene has been visited, examined and documented.
Both vehicles are parked at Mubende police pending i.o.v inspection.
Suspected cause of the accident is careless driving by the driver of Motor UBQ 042X Toyota Hiace.
