Women’s Willingness To Associate, The Source of Development- Says PLU’s Women Representatives

The Patriotic League of Uganda ( PLU) women representatives in Mubende and Sembabule regions have vowed to change the behavior of women in the country so that they can benefit from the common cake.

Speaking at a fundraiser and a party held at Joy Forest camp in Katabalanga in Mubende district to thank God for the election of Joan Komugisha as PLU- woman representative, Greater Mubende.

It was revealed that Women’s intolerance and unwillingness to reconcile with their fellow women are some of the reasons why they remain under developed despite the Government’s efforts to put various programs in place for them to develop.

Joan Komugisha quoted saying most of the women rush to reach at what they dream and end up losing.

“You find that, women don’t want to wait for sometime, they see it as a delay, they want to get what they want very first and that’s the problem we are yet to solve”. Joan said

Komugisha Added that some women are ignorant and unwilling to associate themselves into groups and are the reasons why women remain backwards in all government programmes.

“Some women are not educated and so not updated, now we are going to engage with these women and see how better we can develop them, we want to see them adding value to production and we are going to bring in more projects about value addition”. Komugisha said.

She added that being handed over the responsibility in PLU to develop women and benefit them from various government schemes they are ready.

Annet Kyalimpa district Councilor for Kawanda subcounty and woman representative Greater Masaka and Ssembabule urged women to take advantage of government programs to eradicate poverty.
