Thugs Raid Caritus Group in mityana Steals four Million

Mityana: Thieves raided st Mangadarena Caritus Savings And Credit Cooperative (SACCO) offices in kalagala Lc1, Kalangalo subcounty in Mityana district and stole 4, Million shillings and stabbed several members on Thursday night.

According to the victims, the robbers were armed with pistols and guns and demanded one thing, money.

Munyankidi Daniel, the chairman of St, Mangadarena Curitus group , said the robbers entered his house and pointed guns and knives at him demanding for money and what he did also to save life was to hand over a box containing more than four millions of group funds.

“They did not harm me but took money and more than four of our phones”. he said.

Other four victims that survived with severe wounds are currently receiving treatment at Mityana General Hospital but two were taken to Mulago Hospital in critical condition.

According to Lubyayi Joseph ,the Chairperson of Kalagala village says he received calls from his residents at 8pm reporting an attack on them

However according to Joseph, the police was informed about the theft the same night and they arrived in the morning.

Whereas chairperson says these are unemployed youth that goes around looking for free things and said this must stop.

“I condemn the actions of youths who decide to raise their hands and decide to steal people”. Joseph said

Police have already launched an investigation into the case.

The practice of attacking people with guns in Mityana district has become a common practice with 3 villages being attacked in this week.

The public has always been told to be vigilant and always share information with security personnel in the effort to rid the groups of wrong elements whereas in Mityana seems to escalate.
