MUBENDE: In a remarkable display of community spirit, hundreds of residents turned out for the Nva Mubende Charity Run held earlier today under the theme “Run for Pregnant Mothers”.
The event, which preceded the Nva Mubende festival scheduled for this evening, aimed to raise funds to support pregnant mothers in the region.
The charity run, led by renowned athlete Golola Moses, saw participants donning specially designed running kits, priced at 20,000 Uganda shillings.
These kits also served as tickets to the Nva Mubende festival, providing a unique incentive for participants.
The event was a resounding success, with a large number of community members turning out to support the noble cause. The funds raised from the charity run will be used to purchase mother kits, which will be distributed to hospitals in Mubende.
Following the event, Ismael Ssegawa, well-known as Sureman Ssegawa, the vision bearer of the Nva Mubende initiative, took to the stage to express his heartfelt gratitude to all who participated in the charity run. He thanked everyone who turned up to support the cause, acknowledging their contributions to the success of the event.

“Thank you all who have participated in the 1st edition of NVA Mubende Charity Run. Every year ahead of the Nva Mubende Festival, we will have a charity run, however, every edition, there will be a different noble cause for the run,” Segawa said.
As the community prepares to celebrate the Nva Mubende festival this evening, the success of the charity run serves as a testament to the power of collective action and community spirit.
