Saturday night January 18, 2025, all roads headed to a long-awaited NVA Mubende Festival that happened at the enormous Kasaana playground.
By 7 pm a good number of people had turned up although the playground was still a bit empty and some people had started speculating that January’s brokenness could affect the Festival while others said it was a match game between Aston Villa and Arsenal delaying them.
By 8:30 pm, the grounds had a handful of people which prompted the fans to say it was a flop but a few minutes past 9 pm, people started pouring into the enormous Kasaana grounds. Before we knew it, the grounds were filled up from the ordinary section to the VIP section.
However, by 11 pm, the entire ground was filled up.
Many Mubende home artistes first performed before the main act could step onto the stage and they included, Vanessa Harriet, Shaxx mc, Jim Siizer, Marvio ug, Kim Kaiz, and Julie Flavor, among others. Willy Mukaabya who had taken years without performing in Mubende was seen tantalizing the audience.
Mubende party animals were treated to performances from Acidic Vokoz, Mathias Walukaga, Da hires, Tumbetu comedy, Bizonto comedy, and Dj Saddam among others.
At About 11:30 pm, the Finest and Sensational Musoga Acidic Vokoz hit the stage and changed the night’s mood by getting everyone on their toes. Soon revelers were singing along to songs like It’s Okay, Last Chance.
At about 1 am, The Kadongo Kamu star sir Mathias Walukaga made it on stage as he sang his best songs while mentioning Bobi Wine and premier league club Arsenal and gained crowds. His songs like Lubale Aluma, Referee, Munsendere, Ekitawuluzi, Mable, and many others.
The organizer of the concert Sureman Ssegawa finally stormed the stage in a Red suit with white vets clothing and white shoes and treated his fans to Mbulamu Kitwalo, to Mundeke Ngende and thanked Mubende people for turning up for the event.
Sureman has always said before the day that he has real fans in Mubende. “My fans have always been loyal to me and whenever I put up a concert, they come in big numbers and I hope they will do the same”. Sureman said.
He was right about this statement if the crowd that came for his Nva Mubende Festival is anything to go by, Sureman filled Kasaana playground to capacity.
The man of the night David Lutalo came in style, dressed in a white blazer suit, and stepped on stage a few minutes past 2 am. He kicked off his performance with songs like Kwasa, Bwonongondera, Love Commissioner, Eat Zote leaving the revealers bouncing and dancing.
By the time Lutalo left the stage, everything was satisfied after being treated to their value for money.
The show which ended two hours to 7 am had a tight security by Counter Terrorism Police. Sound and the stage were managed by DJ Saddam, Mc Machete, and Mc Mayor.
