Water Projects Worth 422 Million Launched & Monitored in Mubende

District leadership led by the Deputy Resident District Commissioner Mr. Birungi Abubaker, accompanied by the LCV Chairman Hon Muhereza Ntambi Micheal, Deputy CAO Mr. Mawa Geofery, DISO Mr. Katagwa Christopher have monitored and launched the construction of water projects in Mubende district worth 422 million Uganda shillings

Projects launched include Pharse two Naluwondwa solar piped water system worth 170 million Uganda shillings at Naluwondwa trading centre in Madudu sub county and hand pump bore hole worth 32 million Uganda shillings at Kyakakerwa Village in Kalonga sub county.

In the same development, the district leadership has also monitored the Butayunja solar piped water system at the Butayunja trading center in Kayebe sub-county worth 220m.

DRDC Mr. Birungi Abubaker thanked the President for ensuring that the entire county has a share of the national Cake through funds sent to the district to implement the various projects.

Thanked the district leadership headed by the LCV chairman, district councillors , sub county leadership for identifying the various challenges and getting the solution to the challenges.

Noted that a total of 422 million has been invested in the Mubende district to construct various water sources so that the residents can get access to clean and safe water.

The government is committed to providing better services to the communities but various priorities are placed according to the various needs and therefore all areas will be tackled in the long run.

Mr. Birungi requested the youth to engage in various government programs like PDM to improve their livelihood.

LCV chairman Hon Muhereza Ntambi Micheal thanked the council for accepting to undertake the various projects aimed at improving the coverage of safe and clean water.

He requested the contractors to do quality and timely work so that value for money is achieved as intended so that the community can get access to clean water.

Deputy CAO Mubende Mr.Mawa Geoffrey Noted that monitoring of the projects is evidence-based and aimed at identifying the challenges, value for money, and quality of material used.

He requested the beneficiaries to always report the defects on the projects so that they can be rectified. He stated that vry soon the projects will be commissioned and officially handed over to the beneficiaries.

Mr. Katerega Dickson the District water officer noted that Pharse two Naluwondwa solar piped water system worth 170 million Uganda shillings will comprise a raised Water tank reservoir of 32 cubic meters with steel stand bars, Extension of 1 kilometer pipeline, intensification of 30 meters within Kalagi trading center and Two public stand taps.

5 cubic-hand pump boreholes worth 32 million Kyakakerwa in Kalonga sub-county.

Butayunja solar piped Pharse two worth 220 including design,10 cubic reservoir tanks, solar panels, transmission lines, and some intensification lines.
