Mob Justice: A Coffee Thief’s Hands Cut Off in Kassanda

KASSANDA: The territorial police in Kassanda are actively investigating an attempted murder incident by the mob.
The incident happened in Kalagala village, Kassanda district on March 18, 2025, at about 0130hrs.
The victim has been identified as Ssengima Bosco male aged 40 years old a casual worker and resident of Katikandegeya LC1, Kijuna sub-county in Kassanda district.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victim was caught red handed stealing coffee cherries at Kalagala village in Kassanda district in a coffee plantation belonging to a one Luboyera.
Findings further indicate his both hands were cut off using pangas by the mob that arrested him. The victim is currently getting treatment at Kassanda HC IV.
“We were informed about the incident by the chairperson LC1 Katikadengeya. Relevant statements have been recorded.
However, it is alleged that the victim had been caught severally stealing Coffee in the same plantation. Efforts are on to have the suspects apprehended and brought to book. We strongly condemn acts of mob justice,” SP KAWALA RACHEAL – PRO WAMALA.
