As the faithful gathered for their iftar meal on Sunday evening at the Kanseera Mosque, a profound demonstration of leadership unfolded before them.

The Mubende Municipality MP Aspirant Ismael Segawa well known as Sureman Segawa, joined the residents in the sacred tradition, embodying Ramadan’s spirit of humility and compassion.

Stunned by the unexpected presence of royalty, the gathered faithful were in hushed awe. Some rose to their feet to show respect, while others remained transfixed by the towering figure of grace and leadership.

The ubiquitous mobile phones also came out, capturing the moment for posterity as Sureman Segawa and his entourage joined the congregation for iftar.

In his gentle voice, he inquired about the well-being of the crowd. Segawa sat off the ground and partook in the humble iftar meal, typically comprising traditional rice dishes.

After having iftar with people, Sureman was seen greeting young ones inside the mosque followed by offering Maghrib prayers alongside his other friends.

Ismael rightly calls himself the poor’s leader. Over the past few days, residents saw him visiting people in their homes, calling them for support, applauding their achievements, and motivating them in their fields of work.

He always made time for people, and some moments have left everyone speechless and in awe. Like the video that surfaced and went viral while on the streets of Kanseera, in which Sureman suddenly stops on his way from his car to the bodaboda, calls over two watching expats, and takes a picture with them, much to their delight.
