Tibuhaburwa Directs Mubende NRM Leaders on Implementation of PDM

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has directed NRM leaders in the greater Mubende sub-region to track the implementation of the NRM mass action plan to improve the welfare of the populace.

President Museveni notes that the NRM is strategically focused on poverty alleviation at the homestead level, which all Leaders must embrace and ensure that it is successfully attained.

The president explains that this should be the immediate call to action for all leaders before they embark on other general development issues that do not directly address the question of household incomes as a fundamental solution to poverty levels in the country

Museveni said this while addressing a meeting of leaders from the greater Mubende sub-region in Kasanda district during his ongoing assessment tour of the Parish Development Model initiative in that area.

The president has rallied all leaders to monitor government programs

The president says the government is deliberate in its planning processes and priorities, explaining why it was crucial first to open the major highways that interlink the national borders, and delaying some projects

President Museveni has tasked the Ministry of Works and Transport to explain its delays in the maintenance of deteriorating sections of some major highways

He says this is a clear indicator of laziness because the said roads collapse under the watch of the Ministry of Works and Transport, citing several of the roads in question

The Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and the Ministry of Works and Transport engineer, Isaac Wan, attempted to explain to the president the cause of the delays, but the president slammed their unconvincing argument and warned them about poor planning.

The president has ordered the Ministry of Works and Transport to work on feeder roads that join major highways
