Push Your PDM Sacco Committees to Transparently & Timely Disburse Funds – Museveni

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has ordered people to assert pressure on the PDM management committee for transparency and accountability of released funds, as he bans political interference on the fund.

The president notes that parish development model funds should strictly be handled as determined by people in their respective parishes without the interference of politicians and district technical staff.

He said this as he addressed journalists at Mubende State Lodge as part of his ongoing PDM assessment tour in the greater Mubende sub-region.

The president promised to arrest Internal Security Organisation personnel who have failed to investigate and report on vices hindering the PDM initiative from thriving.

On the issue of low market for maize produce in greater Mubende, the president has advised farmers to embrace value addition, the National and regional markets.

The president has given reference to the Market for milk that has exponentially grown out of embracing value addition and broader markets.

He says the move has seen Uganda boost its milk production from 2 million liters in 1989 to 5.3 billion liters now.
