Kyagulanyi Arrested in Mityana Aggravated Robbery

Mityana Territorial Police are holding three suspects for an aggravated robbery case that happened on Saturday, August 03, 2024, in Mizigo cell, central division Mityana district at about 0400hrs.

It is alleged that the unknown persons on Saturday, August 03, 2024, who were wearing face masks, and armed with pangas torches and sticks attacked Shema Samuel a 27year old businessman at his rented house in Mizigo, Central division, Mityana municipality and robbed him of his two mobile phones (iPhone XS max and Samsung galaxy S10 plus), and money worth 35 million shillings.

During the said robbery, they threatened to kill him if he tried to make any noise and that the thugs used the wall fence to enter the area and exit.

An aggravated robbery case was opened at Mityana police station vide sd: 02/03/08/2024, then CRB: 868/2024 and investigations immediately commenced.

Three suspects have been arrested. The arrested suspects are Kyagulanyi David, 23, Ssebutinde John Bosco, 22, and Makumbi Geoffrey, 24. All are residents of Kinvunikide Mityana district.

The suspects were arrested on 24/08/2024 through our intelligence-led operations.

Upon their arrest, they confessed that they had indeed robbed the victim and shared the money.

A search has been conducted in the home shared by all of them and the tools they use in executing robberies have been recovered. These include a hammer, Pliers, one big torch, two small torches, one pair of desert shoes, one pair of gumboots, and 04 hooded jumpers.

Preliminary findings indicate that after sharing the money, they each bought a motorcycle, new clothes, and shoes. Two motorcycles; Reg no. UFW 866V Bajaj boxer and Reg no. UFS 346Z Bajaj boxers have so far been recovered, and new clothes have also been recovered and have been exhibited.

The case file has been properly compiled pending submission to RSA for possible sanctioning.
