“Mzee Wumula,” Hassan Nduga Rejects NRM Money in Kassanda, Chooses Bobi Wine’s NUP

KASSANDA: Renowned singer Hassan Nduga rejected money that was given to him by an NRM fan after he performed at Bukuya in Kasanda District.

Hassana Nduga left the stage and approached the crowd where the NRM member was wearing a yellow shirt with the NRM logo, the fan was so happy at his performance that led him to pull out his Ten thousand shillings to award but the furious Nduga said; “I ear NRM money is bitter first give this one a red t-shirt and I’ll take his money”.

The yellow man identified as Raban Byakatonda, the chairperson Nkonge LC1, was criticized and condemned by some of the attendees for wearing an NRM shirt at a ceremony organized by the National Unity Platform – NUP.

Hassan Nduga is known for his songs against the government, with songs like “Mzee Wumula”, “Ebintu Bizibu”, “Term Egenda” and others.

Nduga was in the 2021 elections seen supporting those in government which discouraged him from his supporters asking what had happened to him.

However, he later turned to the oppressed side and played songs he regretted what he did including “Naye Kaguta Ovumiz Nze” and among others.

He has been seen on several occasions at the NUP headquarters in Makerere and playing music to NUP members where they gather.
