The territorial police in Mityana are holding Tibeita Teddy a 25year old female for allegedly murdering Nabbosa Irene Nakiyinji a 6 year old female.
The suspect is a step mother to the victim.
On 01/01/2025 at around 0746hrs police registered a case of disappearance of the victim (Nabbosa Irene Nakiyinji) daughter to Katete Paul, a pupil at Ssonko joy primary school a resident of Zigoti cell ZEast igoti town council in Mityana district .
Unfortunately victim was discovered dead on 01/01/2025 at about 1600hrs in a cassava garden in Zigoti East cell.
During our investigations, our task team analysed a nearby CCTV camera in the neighborhood and the suspect one Tibeita Teddy female step mother to the victim was seen moving with the victim towards the crime scene and this led us to the arrest of the suspect.
Upon thorough interrogation,the suspect has admitted to have participated in the murder of Nabbosa irene Nakiyinji.
Postmortem examination reveals that the deceased was not defiled but further revealed the deceased was strangled.
Further findings indicate that the suspect killed the deceased out of envy and because she had lost her one month old son in December 2024 and that she suspected her husband Katete Paul to have had a hand in her son’s death.
Investigations are still underway.
