Mubende Municipality MP Bashir Ssempa Declares War at NRM Incumbents on Top

As we head to the 2026 General elections, Mubende Municipality Member of Parliament, Honorable Bashir Lubega Ssempa, has officially declared war on the leaders under the flag of the National Resistance Movement, from the district chairman to the district Member of Parliament.
After announcing his withdrawal from the upcoming NRM primaries election on July 16, Bashir Lubega Ssempa has said that he is now turning his attention to those who think they are powerful and claim to be taking over Mubende district by intimidating those who come out to speak out.
Bashir said he is still a supporter of the National Resistance Movement; however, he will support it on the side and has now embarked on ensuring that he throws away his fellow MPs, including Honorable Kabanda David of Kasambya County, Honorable Grania Nakazibwe of Mubende District, and District Chairman Muhereza Ntambi Michae, both NRM members from their seats.
Lubega said Ntambi and Grania would have no problem, but they are holding on to Kabanda for fear of losing the election, calling it a mental kidnapping.
Bashir has denied that Kabanda helped him steal the vote, and if he leaves him, he is likely to end up in the next election.
“Some people are saying that Kabanda helped me in the election to steal it. I want to tell the people of Mubende that Kabanda did not help me in the election, and I won it after the people of Mubende gave it to me again in large numbers. He said.
He added that Honorable Kabanda has nothing to offer to the ones siding with him in their elections, saying even the security guards he has, have them unlawfully because he is not entitled to any state benefits, which they give such privileges, but these are used to intimidate the people of Mubende.
He vowed to see him thrown out of office and warned the people of Mubende that if they did not fight for their own, they would see the political wars that have been seen in other places like Ssembabule and elsewhere coming to Mubende.
While declaring war, the meeting was attended by the candidate for district Chairperson, Kisanja Gahanga, Tumuusime Vicent, as well as Tindimwebwa Teopista, candidate for district woman representative, whom the experts say may be Bashir’s allays for his missions.
